I have lived in Walthamstow, E17 for nearly 20 years and am mum to three school age boys.
Having worked in the voluntary and public sectors for many years as a project manager, I retrained as a reflexologist in 2017 after the birth of my third son, wanting to see if I could have more of the mythical work life balance! I first started having reflexology treatments regulary 15 years ago following a miscarriage and instantly loved it.
I then went on to have the therapy throughout my other pregnancies and it made such a difference to how I managed anxiety and stress – and for someone who really struggles to relax, and regularly wakes up during the night, to find a therapy that relaxed me and improved my sleep made a huge difference to my mental and physical health.
I specialise in women's hormonal health because hormones and the impact of too much/not enough on our bodies is an endless form of fascination to me and I am continually updating my skills and knowledge in this area for my own well being and that of my clients. I am also acutely aware of the health inequalities women face, particularly in relation to hormonal and reproductive health - from not being listened to, to not having access to the right type of support (for example it takes an average of 7 years for a women presenting with symptoms of endometriosis to be given a diagnosis of endometriosis!), or feeling we have to live with/cope with extreme discomfort and distress caused by reproductive or hormonal health issues . You will be always be treated with empathy and understanding when you come for a treatment with me and where relevant I will signpost you to additional trusted sources of support, whether it be through the NHS, voluntary sector or other colleagues working within the complementary health sector.
